Scope of Services
Showoff Design – Kimberly Leijen operates as a freelance design and production studio specializing in:
- Concept development and design
- Light design and art installations
- Sculptural and custom-made objects
- Event decor and technical production
- Audiovisual and spatial installations
- Freelance creative and technical services
All services are provided under Dutch law.
Intellectual Property
All content on this Website — including but not limited to:
- Designs
- Visuals
- CAD drawings
- Prototypes
- Texts
- Images
- Concepts
- Technical systems
- Installations
— remains the exclusive intellectual property of Showoff Design – Kimberly Leijen, unless explicitly agreed otherwise in writing.
You may not:
- Reproduce
- Copy
- Modify
- Sell
- Sub-license
- Redistribute
- Commercially exploit
any material from this Website without prior written permission.
Payment for services does not automatically transfer intellectual property rights unless explicitly agreed in writing.
Engagement & Payment Terms
Unless otherwise agreed in writing:
- A 50% advance payment may be required for custom work or production-based projects.
- The remaining balance must be paid within 14 days after invoice date.
- All prices are exclusive of VAT.
- Late payments may result in statutory interest and collection costs.
For event-based or production-based work, additional staged payments may apply.
Custom Work & Production
For bespoke or made-to-order projects:
- Materials purchased and production hours already invested are non-refundable.
- Cancellations may result in full or partial invoicing depending on project stage.
- Delivery timelines are indicative unless explicitly stated otherwise.
Due to the nature of creative and production processes, minor deviations in finish, color, or material behavior may occur.
Event & Technical Installations
For event-related services:
- The client is responsible for safe working conditions and required permits.
- The client remains responsible for supervision and safe usage during the event.
- We are not liable for damage caused by misuse, overload, or external interference.
Website Use
The Website and its content are provided for informational and portfolio purposes.
We do not guarantee that:
- All information is complete or up to date
- The Website will always remain available
- The Website will be free of interruptions or technical issues
External Links
The Website may contain links to third-party websites.
We are not responsible for the content, privacy policies, or practices of any external websites.

These Terms shall be governed and construed in accordance with the laws of the Netherlands.

Freelance Technical & Event Services
- Freelance Technical & Event Services
12.1 When Showoff Design – Kimberly Leijen is engaged as a freelance technician, crew member, operator, technical specialist, or production support within an event or larger production, the Client remains fully responsible for the overall production, organization, and safety of the event.
12.2 The Client is responsible for:
- Providing a safe and accessible working environment
- Obtaining required permits and approvals
- Compliance with applicable laws and regulations
- Ensuring adequate safety supervision during build-up, show, and dismantling
- Appointing qualified safety or production managers
12.3 Showoff Design – Kimberly Leijen is solely responsible for the professional execution of the agreed scope of work and is not responsible for the total event production unless explicitly agreed in writing.
- Equipment & Materials
13.1 Any equipment, tools, materials, or technical systems provided remain the property of Showoff Design – Kimberly Leijen unless otherwise agreed in writing.
13.2 The Client is liable for any damage, loss, or theft of equipment caused by:
- Third parties
- Audience members
- Inadequate security
- Improper handling or storage
- Overloading or misuse
13.3 The Client is responsible for ensuring that adequate insurance coverage is in place when equipment is used within a production or event environment.
- Liability in Event Context
14.1 Liability is limited to the invoice amount of the specific assignment.
14.2 Showoff Design – Kimberly Leijen shall not be liable for:
- Production delays
- Event interruption
- Loss of revenue
- Indirect or consequential damages
- Decisions made by the production or organizing party
- Damages caused by weather conditions, power failures, or third-party technical malfunctions
14.3 Unless explicitly agreed in writing, overall responsibility for event safety management is not assumed.
- Event Cancellation
15.1 In the event of cancellation of a confirmed freelance or technical assignment:
- Cancellation within 30 days prior to the event: 50% of the agreed fee
- Cancellation within 14 days prior to the event: 100% of the agreed fee
15.2 Any incurred travel, accommodation, preparation, or material costs shall be invoiced in full.
- Subcontracting & Hierarchy of Terms
16.1 If operating as a subcontractor within a larger production, additional contractual conditions from the main contractor may apply.
16.2 In the event of conflicting terms, written project-specific agreements shall prevail over these Terms.
