The focus is shifting back to what I love most:
designing new work and bringing ideas to life.
Expect more light, more experiments, and a lot of hands-on projects in the coming months. Until then, here are a few recent highlights.
Defqon.1 '25
RED STAGE
For the past years I’ve been building on one of the biggest hardstyle stage in the world, the legendary Red Stage at DEFQON.1.
A full month of steel, trusses, cables, rain, dust, long days and even longer nights. Working side by side with an incredible crew to turn an empty field into a massive visual machine.
This is where I feel completely alive:
hands dirty, music loud, and a project so big it takes a small army to pull it off.
And yes — I’ll be back again for the 2026 season, ready to do it all over.
This season is packed "26
with major shows and technical builds.
Projects like Awakenings Kingsday, A State of Trance, Nachtwacht keep the calendar filled with new challenges, amazing crews, and ever-bigger stages.
Same pressure.
Same passion.
Some years certain festivals take a break, like Mysteryland this season, but the work never slows down. There’s always another build around the corner.

Hema x Nijntje
Custom Build
Sometimes a project is pure fun.
For HEMA I designed and built a custom 1.5m Miffy Disco Ball a playful installation where childhood nostalgia met shiny festival vibes.
From concept to construction, this was a true hands-on job:
precision rigging hangin solution with high safety standards, custom metalwork, and over 800,000 mirrors to make sure she sparkles exactly the way she should.
And all in 7 day build. A great example that Showoff Design isn’t just about big stages
but also about custom-made objects with character.
Studio Exhibition
Pixel Reflection
Opening the studio doors for the first time was a personal milestone.
With Pixel Reflection, I transformed my workspace into an exhibition — combining mirrors, light, and interactive visuals into a playful installation that invited people to explore and experience.
A moment where making, experimenting, and sharing came together.
New Studio
New Chapter 2024
This year marked a big step: the move to my new workspace in the Broedmachine in Beverwijk.
A place where designing, building, and experimenting finally come together under one roof. More space, better facilities, and a creative community around me exactly what Showoff Design needed to grow.
New headquarters.
New energy.
New possibilities.
International Recognition
ISOLA DESIGN AWARD NOMINATION
A proud moment: my project Mathematic Geometry was nominated for the ISOLA Design Award in the lighting category.
An international acknowledgment that the combination of geometry, material, and light truly resonates beyond borders.
Milan Design Week '22
This one was personal.
Only a few years earlier I walked through Milan Design Week as a visitor with my mother. Surrounded by inspiring work, I told her: “If I ever get to show my own designs here, I’ll have reached a huge goal in my life as a designer.”
And then, with my graduation project, I actually did.
Standing in Milan with my own work on display was a surreal, proud, and slightly overwhelming moment. Proof that big dreams can turn into real opportunities when you just keep building, experimenting, and believing in your ideas.
A milestone I’ll never forget.
Object Rotterdam
next step after graduation
Presenting my work at OBJECT Rotterdam meant connecting with collectors, designers, and a wider creative audience. A moment to see how the designs lived outside the studio and to receive real feedback from the design world.
Another important step in turning Showoff Design from an idea into a growing practice. Thnx Anne for a great experience!
Dutch Design Week '21
The first real public debut.
At Dutch Design Week my graduation project stepped out of the classroom and into the real world. It was the moment where sketches, prototypes, and long studio days finally became something tangible and shareable.
The start of everything that followed.
First Solo Exhibition
The real starting point.
My very first solo exhibition was where Showoff Design truly became visible. Opening a space filled only with my own work felt both exciting and terrifying but mostly empowering.
It was the moment I realized: this is what I want to do.
Build, create, and share it with the world.
